ECOVACS FAQ
Quick answers to the questions DEEBOT and GOAT owners ask most, drawn from ECOVACS's own support articles and product pages. Menu names in the ECOVACS HOME app can differ slightly between models, so use your robot's manual alongside these steps.
Why won't my DEEBOT go back to its station?
ECOVACS support splits this into two cases. If the robot can't find the station, check that the area in front of the station is clear, that the station is still powered and in its original spot, that the floor under it is level, and that the route back isn't blocked, for example by a closed door. Then open the map in the app. If the station icon is missing, carry the robot to the station to charge and rebuild the map before the next run.
If the robot finds the station but won't dock, or backs out again, wipe any moisture off the charging tray and floor, check that the roller mop, base and mop-washing tray are fitted properly, and clean the charging contacts so they press down and spring back. ECOVACS also suggests starting cleaning jobs from the station.
Why is my mop not getting wet?
Start with the simple checks: the clean-water tank is filled, the job is set to vacuum and mop rather than vacuum only, and the water level in the app isn't set too low. On station models, reseat the tank so it sits flat and make sure its sealing plug fits tightly, then rinse the tank filter. Our mop-not-wet fixes walk through all eight checks in order.
How do I remap my house or fix a messed-up map?
If the map looks skewed, overlapped or out of line with your rooms, try the restore option first: in the app, go to Map Management and choose Restore Map to bring back the last saved version. If that doesn't help, delete the map and create a new one with quick mapping. ECOVACS recommends starting the new mapping run from the charging dock and letting the robot finish the full cycle without interruption. Map Management can hold up to 3 permanent maps and 1 temporary map.
How do I reset my DEEBOT?
There are two different resets. For Wi-Fi setup, ECOVACS's connection steps use a short press: hold the reset button for 1 second until you hear "Bluetooth hotspot turned on", then pair in the app. A factory reset removes saved maps and settings: with the power switch on, press and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds until you hear a voice prompt followed by startup music. ECOVACS places the reset button under the top cover; your manual shows its exact position. Try restoring the map before a factory reset, since a reset wipes the maps too.
Why won't my DEEBOT connect to Wi-Fi?
Many DEEBOT models connect on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, including the DEEBOT X12 OMNICYCLONE, T90 PRO OMNI and N30 OMNI. Make sure your router has its 2.4 GHz band switched on and isn't hidden, and if it broadcasts both bands, set your phone to ignore the 5 GHz network during setup. Turn on Bluetooth and location on your phone. ECOVACS also says DEEBOT doesn't work with VPNs, proxy servers or networks that log in through a web page, and that MAC address filtering should be off.
Can a DEEBOT mop without vacuuming?
On some models, yes. ECOVACS gives the DEEBOT X12 OMNICYCLONE four cleaning modes: vacuum, vacuum and mop, vacuum first and then mop, and mop only. The DEEBOT T90 PRO OMNI adds a Carpets First mode that vacuums rugs with a dry roller before mopping hard floors. Mode names vary by model, so check the cleaning-mode menu in the app.
How do I empty the dust on a self-emptying DEEBOT?
It depends on the station. Bagless stations collect dust in a bin you empty by hand: the X12 OMNICYCLONE has a 1.6 L bin rated for up to 48 days, with a scraper ring that clears leftover dust in one push, and the N20e Plus station is rated for up to 45 days. Bag stations seal the dust in a bag you replace: ECOVACS rates the T90 PRO OMNI bag for up to 90 days and the N30 OMNI 2.6 L bag for up to 75 days.
DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI or X9 PRO OMNI?
Both mop with a self-washing roller and go back to an OMNI station. The X9 PRO OMNI is built for carpet: BLAST airflow (16,600Pa with 38% more airflow) and Triple Lift, which raises the roller mop, main brush and side brush separately, plus a station rated for up to 150 days hands-free. The X8 PRO OMNI has 18,000Pa suction, a 10 mm roller lift, a 12-in-1 station that doses cleaning solution, and Matter support. Rug-heavy homes lean X9; smart-home setups lean X8.
DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI or T90 PRO OMNI?
The T90 PRO OMNI has 30,000Pa suction, a 10.6-inch OZMO ROLLER 3.0, a 15 mm carpet lift and an RGB camera for pet video calls and pet search. The X8 PRO OMNI has 18,000Pa, a 10 mm lift and Matter support, and ECOVACS doesn't describe pet-camera features for it. If suction and pet monitoring matter most, choose the T90 PRO OMNI; if Matter support matters more, the X8 PRO OMNI. All DEEBOT series are compared on our robot vacuums page.
Which GOAT mower fits my lawn size?
ECOVACS rates the GOAT A3000 LiDAR for lawns up to 3/4 acre. It navigates with dual LiDAR, needs no boundary wire or RTK antenna, and cuts a 13-inch path. The GOAT O1000 RTK is rated for lawns up to 1/4 acre, navigates with RTK plus a camera and 3D ToF sensor, and cuts an 8.66-inch path; it needs an RTK antenna in the yard. Both are wire-free. See both side by side on the robot lawn mowers page.
Does ECOVACS work with Alexa, Google or Apple devices?
Voice and smart-home support varies by model. The X8 PRO OMNI works with Alexa, Google Assistant and Matter. ECOVACS names Alexa, Google Home and Siri Shortcuts as compatible with the X12 OMNICYCLONE. The X12 OMNICYCLONE, X8 PRO OMNI and T90 PRO OMNI also have ECOVACS's own YIKO voice assistant.
